Hi I'm Shanna

I grew up in Southern California. I am a mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. I am a child of God. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of three teenage boys - two of my own and a stepson. I was a stay-at-home mom for 10 years but now work full time. I grew up in a suburban area where there were a lot of members of the church nearby but now live in a rural area with members spread out more widely. I love to learn new things and have recently started to learn a new language.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon church. In my teenage years I started to question what I knew. I went to several other denominations and learned about a lot of different faiths. Everywhere I went had wonderful people and teachings but they all seemed to be missing something. They could not answer all my questions. In my searching, studying and prayer I came to realize that none of the churches I had visited had a living gospel. They preached from the Bible and of God's word to his prophets of old but had no answers to how God speaks to his children now, or why he would not. I know that Christ restored His church in this time through his prophet Joseph Smith. The Book of Mormon is the word of God translated by Joseph Smith. We do have modern day prophets to lead and guide us for our time. Living the gospel has brought me more happiness and peace than anything else I have ever found. I know that Christ gave his life for me and that no mistake I make need be permanent. I know the joy and peace I find in living the gospel here on earth will be small compared to the joy I will have when I return to my Father in Heaven and have the opportunity to be reunited with my family for eternity.

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily through small and simple things. I am not a leader in the community, I do not organize events or teach in church. I try each day to follow the Savior's example and love my neighbor, help those in need of help, improve myself and make my home a heaven on earth. My children's friends know they can always come to our home and they will find happiness, love and acceptance.
