Hi I'm Daidree Burton

I grew up in Star Valley Wyoming. I enjoy teaching preschool and spending time with family. I'm also a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up with three brothers and one sister. My parents moved us around a lot and we got the opportunity to live in Layton, Utah. While living there I discovered how much I love dance, music, and kids. I joined choir and enjoyed taking a ballroom class where I met really great people. I now work at a preschool because it has all three of those things. I will be planning on going to college so that I can study on my elementary degree. My favorite thing to do though is spending time with my family. Growing up in Star Valley, we as kids would normally would haul hay and move pipe. When living in Utah we would go to Lagoon in the summer with seasonal passes. It was a nice break for two years to be able to spend time riding roller coasters versus hauling hay in the heat. I love them very much and am so blessed to have such a great family.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the gospel and grew up in a community that had the gospel's standards. When I moved to Utah I had been around others that made me question my faith. I realized that I hadn't come to know this truth myself. I wanted the light of Christ in my life and wanted to know why the church was true. I started going to other churches to see how I felt. And some gave me insight, others didn't. But there was always something missing. I never have prayed so hard before. A thought came to my head that never had before. Heavenly Father knew me before I was born. There was only one church that had taught me that God knew me before and that there was a great plan of happiness. I decided to go back to church and learn more. I have never been so guided by the Spirit of truth. Every question I had was answered and every time the answer was fulfilling. I have come to know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that He knows me and loves me. I am a Mormon because during my darkest hours the gospel became the light in my life and taught me about myself and about God's love for me.

How I live my faith

I love the gospel. It has brought me closer to my family and allows me to be with them forever because we are sealed by the power of God's priesthood. It has changed my life. I have decided to serve a mission for the Lord to share my joy with others who don't have this kind of happiness. I know I am a child of God because of the gospel and that He loves me unconditionally.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Daidree Burton
Yes there always was the Bible. We still believe in it. During the times after the apostles were killed there were many truths that were lost and the world went into confusion. So many churches had been made, but none of them had priesthood authority to organize the church. The priesthood had been lost with the death of the apostles. The world had gone into an Apostasy. (Amos 8:11-12) The Restoration was needed because although God's children had lost the gospel, God still loves His children and wanted them to have prophets and apostles to help them find their way in this life.
