Hi I'm Emily

I grew up in Texas. I have an amazing twin. I am a going to be missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have always wanted to travel the world and experience a true adventure. Over the years I have traveled across the majority of the United States. I learned to read later than most, but made up for it by diving head first into every adventure and historical book I had the privilege to get my hands on. From that beginning it grew into a love of the theatre and after being in eighteen different performances and even assisting in directing, I have continued on my own to improve. I listen to Broadway musicals, early recordings of Frank Sinatra, and my own ukulele and voice. I also have a passion for the culinary arts, dance, and gardening. My dream is to travel the world to other counties, teaching them how to grow productive gardens for their families and communities.

Why I am a Mormon

I have seen the power of God in my life and others around me, but the day I was truly converted and learned for myself the absolute truth in this Gospel was the day I felt the most lost in all the world. As a young girl I endured what might be considered a significant amount of bullying at school and many times I have thought it was best to stay silent. My parents were aware of only half my battle and stayed supportively by my side. I am forever grateful for their love and dedication. But I still became lost, even to myself. Over time I have healed and forgiven all past transgressors, even myself for being so hard on myself. I have felt the guidance from a loving Heavenly Father to continually stand up and fight on for my future. Today it is clear that the life I've thought would be simply make believe is so close I could reach out and take a hold of it. In my life time so far I have endured much through the hope and faith I have in Christ. I hope one day to endure all things with God by my side leading the way. I will ever follow Him. For "I know in whom I have trusted." (1 Nephi 4:19, Book of Mormon)

How I live my faith

I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A decision that seemed like a simple choice my whole life became more of a complicated idea because of an injury. In the summer of 2014 I developed a problem with the movement of my jaw, neck, shoulders, and upper back. The seriousness of this injury was emotionally, and somewhat physically crippling, but through the mercy and power of God through the Priesthood I am doing much better now. I went from limited mobility of my jaw, neck, and shoulder to regaining almost full movement and being able to be active again. I know that if God can take His time to help me with my struggles I am dedicateing a year and a half of my life to His will and help bring others the joy that I have found through His Gospel.
