Hi I'm Rochelle Howell

I am an English major. I am currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a twenty year old missionary currently serving in Des Moines, Iowa. I have attended one year of school at Snow College and am an English major. I'm studying to be a teacher so I can help others receive a good education. I hope to also teach creative writing and psychology classes. I love all and everything that has to do with English such as writing, reading, etc. I hope one day to receive a masters degree and work in administration. I have learned that God gives each of us talents and that it is important for us to share those with others. I want to help people learn how to rely on their Savior and how to acknowledge their God given talents.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I grew up in the church but I too, am a convert.

How I live my faith

I am living my faith by spending eighteen months away from friends and family to serve a mission in Iowa. I live my faith by telling others that they can feel the love of their Savior through His gospel.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Rochelle Howell
Mormons are not required to serve missions. However, we are dedicated to sharing the joy that we get from our beliefs. That is what motivates us to do such things. A mission wasn't exactly part of my life plan. But, as I contemplated my plans, I knew that the only way that I could become the person that God intended me to be, was to serve a mission. I knew that it would shape and mold me to be a more selfless person. God called me to be a missionary and that is why I serve. You'll find that most missionaries have a similar answer.
