Hi I'm Julia Westwood

I've lived in Utah my whole life. I am called to serve in the Taiwan Taichung Mission speaking Mandarin Chinese. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Cottonwood Heights, Utah. I started playing soccer when I was 4 and continued playing competitively through my first semester of college. I love flowers and gardening. Star gazing and talking to my mom are my best stress relievers. Fresh fruit, chicken and pasta are my favorite foods along with red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. I get along better with little kids and the elderly than adults. I used to work as a referee for soccer and a lifeguard at my local pooI. Now I work as a CNA and hope to one day become a Physicians Assistant. I've been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my whole life. After one semester of college I decided to serve a mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because there is nothing that brings me more happiness. I cannot even begin to explain my excitement to serve the people of Taiwan. There is nothing more important than spreading the gospel and the joy it brings to every kindred tongue and people across the face of the Earth. I know Mandarin Chinese is not the easiest thing to learn but I am up for the challenge. I know that anything is possible through His help. I can't wait to spend 18 months of my life to full-time service. I love this gospel with all of my heart. It has never led me astray and I know it never will. The happiest times in my life are when I am keeping the commandments and doing what Heavenly Father wants. I can't wait to spend eternity with my family. I love them with all of my heart and I can't wait to help bring that opportunity to the people of Taiwan. I am grateful for Christ and his example. I know His atoning sacrifice can bring hope and peace to anyone who has a sincere desire to access it and is willing to go through the process of repentance. I know that Heavenly Father and His son, our brother, Jesus Christ love each and every one of us individually and unconditionally. The constant companionship of the Holy Ghost is nothing short of miraculous and amazing to know that you can have constant guidance and comfort through this journey here on Earth. I know that we can receive it through the cleansing power of baptism and the laying on of hands by those who have the proper authority. I'm thankful for the priesthood and the blessing it is in my life. I know that it can heal and provide comfort to those who need it. I know that we are all sons and daughters of Heavenly Father. He answers all of our prayers and knows our divine potential. He wants us all to be successful. The Book of Mormon is given to us to help direct and guide and teach us. It is another testament of Jesus Christ. It is the word of God translated by the prophet Joseph Smith through revelation.

How I live my faith

I am a dual primary teacher and nursery worker in my home ward. I attend singles ward periodically to spend time with people my age. I love going to the temple and try to do so as frequently as possible. I go visiting teaching with my mom and love it! Talking and serving the ladies in the ward is always enjoyable. I am called to the Taiwan Taichung Mission speaking Mandarin Chinese.
