Hi I'm Kim

I grew up and raised my family in Utah. I'm a retired firefighter and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have worked in the fire service for over 38 years. I have been a combat firefighter/paramedic, station captain and a deputy fire marshal. I became a POST certified law enforcement officer which opened the door to being a fire investigator. I enjoy motorcycles. I ride a Harley Davidson with an enclosed sidecar. My wife and I belong to a motorcycle group called the Temple Riders, where we ride motorcycles to attend the temple. I attended Utah Valley University and received an Associates degree in fire science.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, in part, because I was raised as a Mormon. I come from a long line of members of the Mormon church including some who were early the pioneers that settled the Utah area. I have remained a Mormon because I have studied in depth, the doctrine of the church, and read the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon. I have prayed to know the truthfulness of these books and the doctrines taught in the church, and my prayers have been answered that they are the true. I have witnessed miracles and prayers answered through the administrations of those who have been ordained in the Priesthood. I have seen the life change of those who have embraced the Gospel of Jesus Christ and accepted his atoning sacrifice. I know that God lives and has called a prophet to minister to His children on earth today. And through this prophet, we can know His will for man today.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in a leadership position in the Priesthood of my local church (ward). In this capacity I help the single sisters and elderly of my ward, with any special needs around their home. I am assigned to visit several specific families and single members of my ward to make sure their minimal spiritual and temporal needs are being met. I serve at our local welfare facility with the making of soap and other cleaning items. I have also worked in the welfare store with stocking shelves and cleaning. I have worked with the youth of my ward. I currently am a member of our Boy Scouts of America committee. I enjoy going to one of our temples and performing the ordinances for my kindred who have passed on. I served a 2 year mission for my church. I served, at my own expense, a mission in the southern region of Brazil. My wife and I are currently preparing to serve a mission in Brazil as a senior couple. All at our own expense and sacrifice of time.
