Hi I'm Josh

I grew up in Minnesota. I'm currently attending college to study applied mathematics. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student majoring in applied mathematics with an applied and computational mathematics emphasis. I am a huge fan of music. I have spent several years playing the piano and throughout high school I played percussion in my school band. More recently, I have picked up the guitar and I think it's my favorite instrument yet. I also love learning about how the world works. Subjects such as math and physics are central to the workings of the universe and they fascinate me. I find myself on a constant pursuit to understand the world around me better.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up within this church so there was no single point in time during which I came upon the sudden realization that this church is true. Nevertheless, I have consistently had spiritual experiences that reinforce a truth that I have grown up knowing: that this church is the church of Jesus Christ on the Earth today. I know that my religious beliefs encourage me to constantly improve my own character and to become more like Christ, the perfect example. I have come to know a joy like no other in following the doctrine of Christ. I know that the Lord is the same yesterday, today and forever, and as such he has not stopped talking to his people on Earth. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and I know that I can return to live with my Heavenly Father again. Altogether, I am so very thankful for this religion in my life. I am glad I have found it and I plan to never let go.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church every Sunday. I love to hear the messages of those who speak in my congregation. In my congregation I am serving as a secretary to my bishop, the leader of the congregation. As part of my duties I organize interviews for individuals who want to meet with our bishop. Apart from my time spent at church, I also live my faith through daily prayer and study of the Bible and the Book of Mormon. These actions help me to from a more personal connection to Jesus Christ and to my Father in Heaven. And finally, I always strive to obey the commandments of God and continually try to improve myself.
