Hi I'm Emilie Gonzalez

I was born in Utah and grew up in Pleasant Grove. I love to meet new people. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am an only child and enjoy meeting new people and participating in planning events. I love giving back to the community and creating things that help other people feel included. I also love playing the guitar and singing, snowboarding, and being active. I am currently a freshman in college and will be serving a mission this summer.

Why I am a Mormon

Right before I turned 8, my cousin and I started meeting with the missionaries. I was then baptized and became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. While growing up, I fell away for a couple of years and struggled to attend church weekly because no one else in my family attended. Finally, I stopped worrying about what others would think and started going by myself. This was the biggest testimony builder for me. I realized that the situation I was in was between God and I. Ever since that leap of bravery, I have been a strong member ever since. I went through High School with a strong testimony and stayed close to my Heavenly Father. Because of this I was blessed and I was able to meet people who inspired me to dive even deeper into the Gospel. As I began college, I looked back on my life and noticed just how many times the Savior has played a role in my life. I would not be where I am today without this Gospel. I started recognizing just how much our Heavenly Father does for us and I knew that there had to be something I could do to show Him how grateful I was. A couple of months ago I made the decision to serve a mission. I want others to feel the sweet Spirit I feel when I live my life through the Gospel because I know it can bless other peoples lives as well. We never have to feel alone. We never have to feel like we're not enough. I know that this church is true. Heavenly Father not only knows us, but he loves us unconditionally and forgives us time and time again. He knows we're not perfect and he loves us anyway. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a living prophet and was sent by God to give us guidance that he receives through revelation. I know Jesus is the true Christ and he made the ultimate sacrifice so we could be forgiven. I love this Gospel and all it has done for me and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I am currently assistant director in my singles ward here at the University. I feel music can bring a lot of people together and through this we are able to feel the spirit. I also live my faith by being an example to those around me. I stand up for what I believe in and I firm with the standards I hold. I also live my faith by doing the things the Lord asks me to do because I know that my Heavenly Father has my best interests at heart.
