Hi I'm Katie

I'm from the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I love kayaking, laughing, and popcorn. I'm serving in the Czech/Slovak Mission. I'm a Mormon

About Me

Being from the Gulf Coast, I get to enjoy the beauty of southern Mississippi. I love spending time outside boating, fishing, and enjoying the beach. I love dogs and hockey. I hate artichokes and doing the dishes. My family has moved all around the United States because my father was in the Air Force. I loved having the opportunity to go to new places and met new people. I'm currently a student at BYUI. I'm undecided on my major, but I've loved my time there.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know how happy it makes my heart. I may not know all the answers, but I do know how I feel. I have felt the sweet spirit whisper to my heart that this is true. That there is a Loving Father in Heaven and that He sent His son, Jesus Christ, to come and atone for my sins. I know that a 14 year old boy named Joseph Smith saw God the Father and Jesus Christ, and he is a prophet of God. Thomas S. Monson is our latter-day prophet. It just makes sense to me that we are sent to this Earth to learn and grow. As we strengthen our faith and follow Christ's example, we can live with Him again with our eternal family. I have felt the Holy Ghost quietly testify to me of these truths. As I continually try my best to follow His will, I am so purely happy. My life has purpose. I feel loved. I feel the joy of this true gospel.

How I live my faith

I try my best to live my faith everyday by my actions. Although there are not a lot of LDS members here on the Gulf, there is a large group of good, faithful Christian people. I'm thankful for the opportunity to learn from these kind individuals and share my knowledge of my Savior with them. I'm currently serving as my ward's Nursery leader until I leave for my mission. I love being able to teach those sweet little ones simple truths like that God and Jesus Christ love them. I'm also humbled to have the opportunity to serve a mission and share what has brought so much joy in my life with others.
