Hi I'm Mckay

I grew up in Provo, Utah. I love bicycles, libraries, and learning new things. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently going to school at Brigham Young University, where I'm studying applied math. I love learning and exercising my mind to solve difficult problems. I try to appreciate the world around me every day, and love hiking in the mountains near where I live and otherwise going on adventures on my bike or on foot.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but I haven't always cared about it as much as I do now. Even though it can sometimes be hard to believe, I know that there isn't anything else in the world that I would rather stand for than what I have learned as a member of this church. I love the promise that through Christ's atonement I can become like my Heavenly Father; that is the most precious truth I know of.

How I live my faith

I spend a lot of time participating in church-related activities. I attend worship services every Sunday as well as social activities throughout the rest of the week. I'm currently assigned to help organize and teach the people who live near me (I live on campus, so almost everyone in my area is about my age); that includes running a program called "home teaching," where everyone is assigned a companionship of teachers to visit them each month and lend support to them. I also visit the temple near my house each week, which is a great place to take some quite time to think and focus on what really matters. In general, I do my best to be kind and positive each day and to live with a strong sense of purpose; I want to emulate the example of Jesus Christ in everything I do in my life. In a few months, I will be leaving on a two-year mission to share my faith with others.
