Hi I'm Jim R. Christensen

I live in Utah. My career has been in consumer and agricultural banking. I was blessed to come from a righteous Mormon ancestry.

About Me

I am a retired agricultural banker with 32 years experience working for the Farm Credit System. I grew up on a small farm and learned how to work early in life. I have enjoyed my business years with the farmers and ranchers I have worked with. They are the hardest-working people I know. I love to ride my side-by-side -UTV- in the beautiful mountains around where we live. I am a married father of four- great kids, all of them now married. Two of them and their families living in the same city as me which makes it easy to see our grandchildren often. I am a college graduate with a degree in business and accounting. I love the Lord. I have a Mormon-rich ancestry that goes back many generations. I enjoy having the blessings of the Gospel in my life, helping me raise my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I feel blessed to have been born into an active LDS family. I was taken to Church by my parents who love the Lord and set a good example for me. I had a great childhood - I loved playing all sports, hunting, fishing, and doing fun things with my friends and family. Early in life I knew that the Church was true and by living it principles I could have a happy life. My wife also came from an active Mormon family and she has been my best help-mate in my life on earth. I love her so much and want to be with her forever. I know that by being married in the LDS temple that I can be married to her for time and all eternity. I don't want us to part ways at the end of this earthly life. I want her to be with me forever. I also can have my earthly posterity forever through being sealed as an eternal family in the temple. I feel this is one of the greatest blessings anyone can have in their life. I have felt God's blessings in my life each day and have always been one who prays often and acknowledges the blessing received from the Lord. I have grown spiritually from my service in my church over the years and have strengthened my testimony of the truthfulness of the LDS church and its teachings. There is nothing the church asks of me that cannot make me a better person. I know that by living the laws and commandments of the Gospel that I can be a better husband, father, grandfather, and friend to those around me. I try to be an example for good.

How I live my faith

I have been a member of the Mormon Church my whole life. I was married in the Provo LDS Temple in Provo, Utah and have been involved one way or another in serving my Lord since that day. I have been involved in Boy Scouts for many years and have recently completed my Woodbadge training. I have served in two LDS Ward Bishopric's and also as an Assistant Stake Executive Secretary in my local Stake. I have been a hometeacher for many years and have grown to love and serve the families I visit each month. I have a great friend I hometeach with which helps keep me motivated and attentive during each visit. I feel I can make a difference in their lives if I am there when they need a friend. I have tried hard to be a good neighbor and have served in our local community when asked. I love my family and feel my greatest service has been working with my immediate family in helping them get through life's struggles. I feel we are all part of God's family and are sent to come to earth to help each other. I try to treat others as I would like to be treated myself. I think this is a good pledge to live by.
