Hi I'm Sierra

I grew up in Oregon and Idaho. I am going to college in Idaho. My major is Biology Education. I love it. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a single college student. My major is Biology Education. With that I want to coach Varsity Volleyball in High school. In High School I received many awards towards my academics and basketball and volleyball. I was offered scholarships for both basketball and volleyball. I declined them though. Fun fact I tore my ACL right after my first semester of college. So I understand the pain of knee surgery haha.

Why I am a Mormon

I have learned and felt things that I could never deny. I have felt God say the words "Sierra, I love you" in the loneliest of times. From there, with a willing heart, he has guided me. I have a testimony that God still speaks to his children. As we read in the Bible God is the same today, yesterday and forever. If he is the same he still loves his children and talks to his children today. I believe in a living prophet today, just as in the times of old. The prophet today does not dress like the old prophets but they are the same in purpose. To guide the children of God with truth and guidance that needs to be stated in this world. The Book of Mormon is another witness of Christ. The Book of Mormon takes place in America around 600 BC. Christ loves all of his children. He would not leave out another nation. All of his children have the opportunity to come to know Him. He would not leave one nation in darkness. The Book of Mormon is proof. All the Book of Mormon does is testify of Christ. Nothing in the Book of Mormon is contrary to God and Christ's teachings.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith? I do it from example. I try to keep myself clean regarding my language, appearance, and what I eat. Another way I am living my faith is that I have volunteered to go serve a 18 month mission for the LDS church.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Sierra
We believe wholeheartedly in the Bible! The Bible is so essential. In the Old Testament it establishes 4000 years of how God works with His prophets, that pattern of revelation is still used to today with our living Prophet, because God is the same today, yesterday, and forever. The Bible is so important because it has the account of Christ's ministry, death, and Resurrection. The rest of the New Testament is of the Apostles that leads into Apostasy as prophesied in Amos 8. The Book of Mormon also testifies of the same gospel Christ preached to his prophets in America starting in 600 BC continuing after Christ's death. God revealed the Book of Mormon to a prophet, this revelation to prophets of continuing words of God is the same pattern established in the Bible. God loves His children we can always be learning more about him! Read 2 Nephi 29! When I read that chapter and really prayed to know if it was true, I received my answer the the Book of Mormon was true! Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Sierra
I am a normal person when it comes to life. I love Volleyball and Basketball, I love hiking and swimming, I love being with my friends and family! I love wearing my black skinny jeans with ankle boots and a long sweater! So pretty normal! But being a Mormon, I have learned more about MY purpose in life. I know that I am a Daughter of my Heavenly Father. I am not here just to try to survive this life. I am meant to grow, I am meant to become more like my Father in Heaven, as I face wrong and right, and as I make my own decisions. I have seen more joy and have gained more courage to face trials as I turn towards Christ and my Father. One of my favorite quotes "Faith doesn't make things easier, but it makes things possible." I know that we lived with our Father in Heaven before coming to earth. We knew Him, and He knew us. There is a deeper reason to this life knowing that knowledge. Because of that knowledge I know who I am, and I know better the nature of my God, of my Heavenly Father. I know now the reason of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ didn't appear out of no where, there was a plan chosen for him to do this so we can make it back to our Father in Heaven. We chose this plan, lets finish it! Show more Show less
