Hi I'm Dixie

I live in Utah, I love to ski, I'm Serving a mission in Knoxville, Tennessee, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a member of the LDS church all my life. I just graduated from High School and am preparing to serve an LDS mission in Knoxville, Tennessee. One of my favorite things to do is ski. I have grown up by all these ski resorts and so ever since I was little I have loved to get up and shred on the slopes of Utah!! Being in the mountains is something that I hold dear. I would choose to live by the mountains over the beach any day.

Why I am a Mormon

Throughout my life I have been surrounded by many people who have been positive examples in my life and have helped my testimony of the gospel grow. After growing up with these examples in my life I decided that I needed to gain a testimony of my own. I read the Book of Mormon, prayed about it with real intent to find the truth, and eventually I received my answer. I know this gospel is true without a fraction of a doubt. I know the Book of Mormon is True and that if we read it and abide by its teachings we can get close to God. Joseph Smith truly was a prophet and I know we have a Prophet on the Earth today. I am so grateful that I was born into this gospel and I am also grateful that I have the opportunity to share this gospel with those who do not have it in their lives. Without this gospel and without my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ I am nothing. But with them and with this gospel, I can do all things!!! The gospel is true everyone!!! Learn it, Live it, and Love it!!! There is nothing quite like it!!!!

How I live my faith

I have grown up being taught the truths of the LDS gospel. Over time I have gained my own testimony of the church.Throughout my life I have been able to be a leader and example to those around me as I have served in the church. I have been on my stakes Youth Council and my schools Seminary Council where I have been able to help plan things for the stake youth and seminary students at my school. I am now preparing to serve a two year mission in Knoxville, Tennessee and I can't Wait!!!

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Dixie
The atonement of Jesus Christ is something I do not know everything about. It isn't something I fully understand and I don't expect to understand all of it in this life. But I do know that it is the most important blessing given to me by my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ. The atonement is where Jesus Christ suffered for my sins and my transgressions. He died for me on the cross. And he was resurrected so that one day I can return to the presence of God and be with him for time and all eternity. Without the atonement I am nothing. Without it there is no way any of us could return to the Kingdom of God. The atonement gives us the ability to repent and be forgiven of all of our sins. It also makes it possible for us to always have someone who knows what we are going through. I have made many mistakes in my life. We all do. But because of the atonement I have been able to experience the burden of my sins being lifted off my shoulders. When I repent I know I can be forgiven. And no matter what I go through in this life I know that Christ will always be there right beside me because there is nothing that I go through that he hasn't been through before. He took upon himself all of our sins, sadness, trials, tribulations, everything. Because of this we can be forgiven, because of this we always have a friend who is ready to wrap his arms around us, and because of this we will be able to return to live with God and our families forever!!!!
