Hi I'm Laura

I love family, cooking, singing, and my husband.

About Me

I am currently a student and am studying music. My husband is a student too. I have been married for a year and a half and I love it. We both served missions and met soon after we returned. I served in the Philippines. I loved my mission and still hold a special place in my heart for Filipinos. I love singing. I have been taking private lessons since I was 16. At first I was very afraid to perform and thought singing wasn't for me. But now I am not as scared to perform and I'm so glad I stuck with singing because sharing my talent brings me so much joy! I also love cooking, especially making up recipes and creations. My husband and I both love making new friends in our church and spending time with our families who live fairly close by.

Why I am a Mormon

My husband I got married in the Mt. Timpanogous Temple. I am so grateful for the binding covenants we make with the Lord in the temple, so that my husband and I can be bound together for eternity. I am also grateful for what I have been taught about the importance of marriage and families. I have found that to be so true. For example, being married to my wonderful husband has helped me in everything I do; in school, in my relationship with others, in my personal development, etc. The process of learning to be a good spouse has truly brought me closer to Christ and I can honestly say that this is the happiest I've ever been. And I know that even more many happy years are yet to come! I get so much joy from improving my relationship with my family and with my spouse. I know that marriage and families are ordained of God! I know, with out a doubt, that Heavenly Father loves me. I have always just felt this is true somehow. I am so grateful that He sent his Son, Jesus Christ and I know He is my Savior. My relationship with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have been central to my life and it is was upholds me from day to day. I am so grateful for their words in the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. My day always goes better when I read it. I know the Book of Mormon is true.

How I live my faith

My husband and I have been in our current church congregation for 1 1/2 years and we feel it is important to make friends and get to know others. We find joy through serving others and we also are served. I am so grateful for a church where we can feel supported by other members and all help each other. One way that I get to know others in my congregation is through my church callings and duties. My current calling is to serve as the choir director. This assignment came from the Lord through my bishop and I have been very grateful for it because I have improved my ability to lead a choir and I have made friends. I also feel a lot of joy when my choir performs and we are able to affect others through our singing.
