Hi I'm Megan

I am a full-time student. I love to try new things. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am currently going to school to gain my BA in Health Education and Promotion with an emphasis in Community Health and I am considering getting my MA in public health. I just recently got married, to a wonderful man, in December 2015 in the Draper temple. I am excited to start my life with my forever companion by my side. I had the opportunity to go to Thailand in May 2015 for several weeks to learn more about global health. It was an amazing experience and I hope to be able to go back someday and travel to other countries to gain a more broad perspective of the world. I guess you could say I caught the "travel bug". I come from a small family with my parents and one sister. My sister is married and her and her husband just adopted their first son about a year ago. I would say my family is my life. I wouldn't be where I am today without them.

Why I am a Mormon

Honestly, I am a Mormon because in my heart and soul I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is truly a church of God. When I pray to my Heavenly Father I constantly receive conformation that this is where I am supposed to be. Growing up, my parents really never forced me or my sister to go to church and, in many ways, I am thankful for that because it gave me the chance to gain my own testimony instead of trying to gain a testimony from someone else's. There was a time in my life where the church wasn't a priority even though I knew it was true. I soon realized that my life was truly not complete without the gospel in it. I began to attend church more frequently and participate in church and church activities more. I developed a stronger relationship with my Heavenly Father through prayer and I began to feel a change in myself. I was happier, more confident, and I felt like God was truly happy that I was drawing nearer to Him and His wonderful gospel. Since then, I have grown even closer to Him and have gained such a deeper testimony.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be like Jesus Christ and to follow His teachings. In no way am I perfect at this but each day I really do strive to do good and help others as best as I can. Sometimes I fall and do not fully reach my personal objective to be like Christ, but I live my faith by applying the infinite Atonement in my life so that I can redeem myself each day and draw one step closer to God and His beloved son.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Megan
Talk to Him through prayer and ask Him for reassurance and love. Read the testimonies of special witnesses called apostles and prophets. They have had sacred experiences with God and have recorded these experiences in sacred books called scriptures. Keep His commandments, which bring you closer to God and help you know that He lives. Your belief in God will grow as you: Pray to Heavenly Father (James 1:5). Study the scriptures (2 Timothy 3:14-17). Obey God’s commandments (John 14:21-23). Show more Show less
