Hi I'm Crystal

I'm grateful to be a Mormon, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know that my Redeemer lives!

About Me

I love to read, write poetry, watch superhero shows and movies, and play games with others. I have been diagnosed with some mental disorders, but find that when I lean on Christ He helps me in ways I never thought possible. I know that our Savior loves me and each one of us. He atoned for us because of His perfect and infinite love. Through Him I am strengthened and comforted. I have found more peace, joy, and happiness by coming closer to the Lord. Even though my mental illness has caused me to be put on disability, I know that through His atonement I can be healed. I have faith that I will still be able to live a meaningful life, and help others do the same. I have already seen many great, even miraculous things, happen throughout my life. In fact, hospital stays have often been times where I have had some of my best opportunities to share my faith with others. They in turn share with me. We are strengthened and comforted together. I have a wonderful family and many friends that encourage and support me. I do my best to support and help others in any way that I can. I often find that just being a friend is the best way I can show my love. When the opportunity presents itself, I share my testimony and the restored gospel. I hope to help others find the same happiness that I have found in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised as a Mormon, I became inactive, and even agnostic, for a short time. Then, through the help of friends, LDS (Mormon) missionaries, and especially the Holy Ghost, I was able to come to a knowledge that the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I will never forget that day, 2/04/04. I prayed for help to know if He's there for me. He answered with a yes; He is always there for me. I had some doubts at first, but over time I've become more and more sure of this answer. As I learned to sincerely pray, I developed the most wonderful loving relationship with our Heavenly Father. I came to understand that I am special and precious to Him. Although it was somewhat foreign to me, it was also the most wonderful and amazing feeling. Now I know I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father, and He loves me. And I love Him! My relationship with Him means more to me than anything else. Almost simultaneously I developed a wonderful relationship with our Savior, Jesus Christ. I admit the Atonement didn't hold a lot of meaning for me at first. Then a good friend and roommate told me that even if I were the only one who needed it, He would atone for me. Just for me. The feeling I had at that moment was indescribable. Now I realize it was the Holy Spirit testifying that this was true. I know that this is true for all of His children. He has atoned for each one of us, individually. Another date I will never forget is 12/04/04. That was the day I felt I received the answer that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. I learned Joseph Smith was a prophet of God who restored the gospel again to the earth in these latter days, and that with divine assistance He translated The Book of Mormon, another testament of Jesus Christ. I know all of these things are true. It's such "good news" that I just have to share it! God has an infinite and perfect love for all of us. He wants us to find and have peace in this life, and eternal happiness in the next.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by learning and growing through scripture study and prayer. Then I share what I learn with others, hopefully at the right times. I recently put together a daily scripture and quote calendar, hoping it would help others come closer to Christ as they read a little from it each day. It has a different scripture and quote for each day of the year. I kept the messages short so that a person can read them within two or three minutes. I wanted to keep it simple so that it doesn't overwhelm anyone. I'm offering this to everyone who is interested. Of course it's free. I took scriptures from The Bible, The Book of Mormon, The Doctrine & Covenants, and The Pearl of Great Price. The quotes are from prophets, apostles, and other general authorities or general church officers from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
