Hi I'm Alexa

I grew up in a large, happy family. I love service. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a woman who has grown to love people and delight in their potential for goodness. I am a college student who loves to sing, play the piano, do good, and learn from the world around me. I've been to South Africa and Mozambique to visit the land of my paternal ancestors and experience the diversity in culture that the world has. I recently received my mission call to Bulgaria and am very excited to serve and love the people. I have a love for languages and have particularly loved learning some French, Spanish, a little German, and soon Bulgarian. I enjoy learning about historical health and love to be happy. My joy comes in serving and loving others and my loving Heavenly Father. I love family and children and hope to be an adorable mommy and wife someday.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of Jesus Christ's restored church because I adore Him. He is my "best friend" because He knows me better than I know myself and loves to help me, He loves me absolutely perfectly even with my weaknesses and helps me constantly, and He is so good that all He wants to do is help me and every single person feel loved and hopeful. Because He is the Son of God, He knows every single individual absolutely perfectly and has complete power and ability to help them individually learn and grow. I know He is real today and is anxiously watching over everyone even though the vast majority of us don't believe in Him. I know that He also isn't helpless and even though a lot of the world is moving toward atheism, He is calling prophets and apostles (just like Moses and Abraham) to tell us His commandments and His gospel. I know that the reason He isn't appearing to us again on Earth right now is because the rest of the world isn't ready for Him yet. We need as many people as possible to have faith in Him first and so we need to share His gospel and help them believe in Him. I know that He knows best about our needing to have faith in Him first without seeing Him, but I also know that I have faith because of what I do know. Not because of what I "don't" know. I choose to have faith, not because I'm blind or brainwashed, but because I see what's really happening. I want to help. I know that the Savior established this, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints headquartered in Salt Lake City, UT, because He Himself chose to. I know without a shred of a doubt that Joseph Smith was the prophet He called to establish it in 1830, and that this church and all its structure presided by Him, Jesus Christ the very Son of God, is the only absolute true church on the Earth today. If you sincerely pray to God about it and ask if it's the truth like I have many times, He will help you feel good feelings that aren't made-up. He will let you know. :)

How I live my faith

I have a passionate drive for making myself and others happy and hopeful. I've been blessed to do this by surrounding myself with others I can love and talk to and currently serve in my church as a leader who cares for the others, particularly adult women in my church associations. A goal of mine is to show others that I care for them personally in each crowd and have learned that I can make it personal by learning as many names, faces, and personalities that I can. I adore seeing and greeting these individuals in whatever setting I share with them and love to make new friends by meeting more people all the time. My joy also completely centers on and comes from my Savior Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and it is my highest hope to bring others to feel His encompassing love and help for them. I know that Jesus Christ lives today and I want to share and defend that truth as much as I can at every appropriate opportunity allowed to me.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Alexa
Jesus Christ was the perfect example of service to others and taught us to "love our neighbor as ourselves". Mormons believe wholeheartedly in Jesus Christ and in keeping His commandments to the best of our ability. Along with His commanding us to love others, the Savior wants us to share and go the extra mile in our service to them. The term "the extra mile" is actually quite an understatement to the service missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints often do as Mormon missionaries are often known for their sometimes literally travelling across the world to share the joy and knowledge they receive from the gospel to all who are not Mormon.
