Hi I'm Benjamin

I'm from Houston. I study economics. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Houston and love everything about Texas, especially the people, the food, and the diversity. I love reading books, playing basketball, watching the Astros, and Latin dancing (it's a work in progress, but still fun!). I spent two years abroad in Buenos Aires as a missionary for the church, where I met people who are now some of my best friends! I study economics and am preparing to apply to law school. My family is the most important part of my life, and I'm grateful for wonderful parents and siblings. I look forward to having family of my own someday!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my parents instilled in me a belief in God from a young age. As I grew older and had to choose how to live my life independent of what my parents wanted for me, I came to know for myself that Heavenly Father is real and that I am His son. He loves me and sent Jesus Christ to earth to save me and all of God's children. I learned for myself that the Book of Mormon is of God, and that Joseph Smith was called of God to be a prophet. I learned these things by reading the scriptures, praying to God, and living in accordance with the teachings as best I could. As I continue to do those things, my faith continues to grow to this day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be like Jesus Christ and follow His example. I think that there are opportunities every day to serve others, and I try seize them the best I can. I have made promises to God that I will be who He wants me to be, and although I consistently fall short, I consistently improve as well. I love to go visit with people from church to see how they're doing and if they need help, and I love talking to people of other faiths about what they believe and what I believe: I mean, that is what I did for two solid years as a proselyting missionary!
