Hi I'm J.D. Alvis

I'm Mormon... I grew up in rural Alabama, and have a deep love for our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ.

About Me

I was born on April 18th 1986, and have lived in Alabama most of my life. I am the oldest of 5 kids ( 3 boys, and two girls.) I enjoy reading, swimming, football, tennis and soccer. I hope to go back and finish my degree soon.

Why I am a Mormon

There was a time in my life when I lost most of my purpose and drive to keep going, I had no purpose, and I began to hate myself. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was an essential light in my life that helped my love myself again. I always believed that God had a plan for me but through the scriptures, through personal revelation and through the words of a living Prophet, I was able to come to know that I am a child of God, and that God's plan is a plan of happiness. This changed everything; I was able to discover my passions, I regained a desire, a desire to do... anything again, and I found the happiness that I had forgotten I could feel. I am grateful for the Book of Mormon and I know that it is true. When I read it I feel good, and I am more at peace. I have found answers to important personal questions and it has helped me come closer to Jesus Christ. Aside, from my faith, when I live the standards of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints, and with the great testimony I have gained of the truthfulness of this church and its restoration through the Prophet Joseph Smith, this I cant deny.

How I live my faith

I am new to the faith, and already its a driving force that is dear to me. I wake up daily thanking Heavenly Father for the Atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ and for his sacrifice. Through Christ's Atonement and love for us, it helps me show love and compassion unto others, and show that through my faith in Him, that all is not lost. No matter what we face we will make it through.
