Hi I'm Stephen Bailin

I am a current missionary in Lubbock, Texas, and I am an avid hockey and baseball fan. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a pre-missionary with a calling to the Texas Lubbock Mission. It was my choice to go on a mission because I want everyone to know that God speaks to people today and that we, as people, can return to God. I am an avid hockey and baseball fan. My favorite hockey team is the Calgary Flames and my favorite baseball team is the Arizona Diamondbacks. I hope to get in to sports broadcasting when I go back to BYU-Idaho. I recorded football, soccer, volleyball, and water polo games. I had a really great first semester.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it keeps me in line; it keeps me doing good even if it isn't in the name of "religion." It's a lifestyle I enjoy. I enjoy doing good to others, I enjoy helping and serving. I enjoy the knowledge that comes with being a Mormon. There are things we teach that are so comforting to know--the questions, "Where did we come from?" Why are we here?" and "Where are we going?" I enjoy having the knowledge of these things and you would too. There is a special peace and comfort within this church. I can handle all the challenges that come into my life and I have no doubt that God cares about all of us.

How I live my faith

I try to do my best to serve. I try to live by my words and my actions. I try to keep my thoughts toward my goal of being a successful missionary. To me, this means that I made the conscious effort to tell them of Jesus Christ and that they have an ounce of knowledge that there is something they can do to improve their lives. Any person I come in close contact with is responsible for choosing to accept. I am only sending "The Package." I live my faith by ensuring others that I am ready to serve--even if I am unwilling. Service shouldn't be denied to anyone for any reason. It is something Jesus Christ would do.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Stephen Bailin
The whole purpose of this life is to go back to our Father in Heaven--our God. What a great way to spend eternity, the whole rest of existence, FOREVER, than with the one you love. Just you and your spouse for ETERNITY. That's a pretty good deal. On top of that, those children you have with him or her will be yours. It isn't after death do you part ways. You come back to them. The term "I will love you forever" is so real in this case. Show more Show less
