Hi I'm Hi, I'm Marvin and a Mormon.

I'm also a husband, a father of 6, a grandpa (currently 23), and a great grandpa with 7 great-grand children and counting.

About Me

I was born in Colorado and was baptized a member of the church in Germany when I was 8 years old. When I was 19 years old I had the opportunity to serve a full time mission for the Church in Washington State, then called the Pacific Northwest Mission. I've lived in Europe, Korea, and may states in the Untied State. I now live in Utah. I enjoy being a father and husband. I have completed 2 bachelors degrees and 1 maters degree. I have had a wide diversity of occupational experiences the most recent of which was a Science Teacher of 8th grade students. This was very enjoyable and always different. I am now retired and my wife and I are preparing to serve a mission for the church. We will go to the Mission Training Center in Provo in March and will begin our missionary service in the Farmington New Mexico Mission two weeks later. We are very excited and thankful to be able to serve our Father In Heaven and his Son, Jesus Christ full-time for 18 months. We have been looking forward to and planning for this spiritual experience together for 43 years, our entire marriage.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and am very grateful for my membership in his church. Following the teachings of the Savior has helped me be a better son, a better husband, a better father and overall; a better person. As I study the scriptures and the words of the prophets I continue to learn and grow spiritually. It is a blessing to know my Heavenly Father and his Son know me and love me. I know that I am a child of God and are loved very much. I know that he wants the best for me and will be there for me as long as I am humble and prayerful.

How I live my faith

My wife and I have worked as a team of equals sharing in the responsibilities, opportunities, and blessings of having children and raising them to know and understand the gospel of Jesus Christ by teaching from the scriptures about prayer, faith, repentance, righteous choices and most importantly, the love of Jesus Christ and the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that each person is a literal spirit child of God the Father. I know that God loves each of his children. I study the life of Jesus Christ and the example He has set for us and attempt to follow that example. I have always tried to treat all of those I have come in contact with with love and respect just as our Savior Jesus Christ did. I share the gospel of Jesus Christ with those I come in contact by living as an example of Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ was the best teacher of all times. As a school teacher I tried to use his methods of teaching as much as possible and found my greatest successes as a teacher when I did. I have always enjoyed serving in the church in every way possible, as a teacher, leader, or as a follower. I have especially enjoyed any church callings I have had with the youth of the church. I believe that the essence of following the gospel is to be of service to others and to be a humble recipient of service from others when I am in need of help. I try everyday to follow the teachings of Jesus by keeping his commandments and loving and serving my family, neighbors, and those with whom I associate.
