Hi I'm Kynan

I live in Edmonton, Alberta. I love math, physics, hockey, and rock climbing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play sports. Hockey is my overall favourite and I'm into rock climbing right now as well, but I'll play anything. Just let me know when and where. My favourite hockey team is the Edmonton Oilers. I have lived a structured life but I do enjoy just being spontaneous at times. It keeps things interesting. I like doing things right. School especially. I plan on going into engineering for university in a couple years and seeing where it takes me. I would like at least a masters in something. Not sure what yet. I love pizza with anything made of meat(no veggies) and almost anything made of potatoes. Fries along with salt and vinegar chips are at the top of that list. Burgers and chinese food are awesome as well. I have one amazing sister and the best mom and dad a guy could ask for. I love our family vacations in the summer. It's when I get to explore the world, even though we don't travel across any great distances. I love spending time with friends and doing whatever we feel like doing. I really like long board games that involve some kind of strategy or need for clever diplomacy. Settlers of Catan, Monopoly, Risk are just but a few. If I could go anywhere I would pick space. I think it would be amazing to explore the universe. Either that or go backpacking through Europe. Or maybe hang out in Hawaii or South America. I'm not too picky. ;) I hope to have a family someday with some kids.(Haven't decided how many. 12 might be just a tad too high)

Why I am a Mormon

As I have grown up I have learned about Jesus Christ. I have learned that He is my Savior, that He loves me perfectly, and that He wants me to come and live with my Heavenly Father again. I have done this by doing what He asks of us. I have been baptized, I follow His commandments as best as I can, and I try to be like Him. I try to live His gospel. As I have done this I have come to see in an increasingly growing manner how much He does for me in my life. How much He teaches me and blesses me. I see how much I am able to accomplish with His help that I could not myself. As I come to see all this I know He loves me and in turn I love Him. I am able to have true joy and peace because of Him. I can be forgiven and not be dragged down by the infinite weight of my sins. I am able to do this because I am a member of His church. To be a Mormon means that you are a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It is Jesus Christ's church. He lead's it and directs it. I want to follow Him and He wants me to be in His one and true chruch, living His perfect and true gospel. I know Him to be our Savior and the one and only way back to our Heavenly Father. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I help out in my ward by just being available for whatever. I help substitute teach in primary and nursery. I help go take the sacrament to those who are ill and can't come to church. I am a family history consultant and have volunteered at the family history center and I also go around to LDS members homes and teach them how to use our family history programs. I also myself help out with our family's family history. I attend an institute of religion class every Tuesday evening where I learn more about my faith. I have also attended early morning seminary for four years which also taught me lots. I read my scriptures and attend three hours of church every Sunday. I participate in Family Home Evening every Monday usually with my family but occasionally with other families or young single adults. I go out with the missionaries and help them teach a lesson to an investigator to our church and will soon be on a two year mission for my church where I will be serving in the Nevada Reno Mission. I'm super excited to go! I try to participate in and help where I can with church events and activities. I helped plan a fun hockey night where we had pizza and wings and watched our local hockey team beat our rival. I have been an actor in a play for our night of drama. I have been on a committee that planned a weekend youth conference with games, service, and learning. I have participated in scouts and gone on camps where we learn about ourselves and about God's creations. I go home teaching to families in our congregation and taught them a lesson in there homes and got to become their friend. I keep trying to do better at living my faith so that I can be a better example of Jesus Christ.
