Hi I'm Mindy Harter

I am an artist. I am a Disney lover. I am a retired cheerleader. I am a roller skater. I am a student at BYU-Idaho. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Southern California, 10 minutes away from Disneyland. It is my dream to pursue a career with the Walt Disney Company. I am majoring in Communications at an amazing school affiliated with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, BYU-Idaho. I love it here, but I do miss the beach. I got my scuba diving license last summer and I look forward to more tropical adventures in the future. I love to travel; I cannot wait to visit relatives in England for the first time this summer!

Why I am a Mormon

Just last year I was not a Mormon. Two years ago I didn't know what a Mormon was. Luckily, an acquaintance in my class junior year of high school introduced me to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He became one of my best friends and taught me all about the gospel and Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. I decided to get baptized almost a year after my first encounter with Mormons. I noticed how different Mormons were; they are happy and friendly and kind. They are Christ-like in all they do and say, or at least they strive to be. I wanted to be like the Mormons. And now I am. I am a Mormon because I learned so much by studying through this church. I can testify to you that there are people on this earth that God has chosen to direct us. There are prophets living today. There are leaders in the church, such as the bishop, who were truly chosen by God to guide us and help us. I know that Jesus Christ died for me and for you, that we can be lifted of our burdens and our sins because of his atonement. I know that our Heavenly Father will help us with and through anything if we ask and seek for answers from him with faith. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a holy and sacred church, guided by God himself and I love it so much.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by remembering my Savior everyday. I start and end each day with a prayer. My goal for reading the Book of Mormon is to finish it by my one year baptism anniversary date, March 7. Attending a Christian school has a huge impact on how I live my faith. All of my classes relate to the gospel. My teachers talk about Jesus Christ and every class begins with a prayer.
