Hi I'm Kathy

I am a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

During my lifetime I have enjoyed many things--playing and teaching the piano and organ, sewing, painting, cake decorating, and gardening. But most of all I have enjoyed loving and serving my family. They are everything to me. I have also enjoyed serving others in my church callings as well as neighbors and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

Ever since I was a little girl, I have always felt close to Jesus Christ. Every Sunday I enjoyed going to church with my family and on either Tuesday or Wednesday of every week I attended Primary. When I was 5 years old, I fell ill with rheumatic fever. I was bedridden for several months. During this time, my father gave me a priesthood blessing. He promised me that I would be made well and would not suffer any ill effects from the disease. This blessing became a reality. I was healed and I have not suffered any ill effects since that time. I have been able to bear children, play sports, run, hike, and anything that I had a desire to do. As I have continued to live the principles of the gospel, my life has been richly blessed. I have witnessed many miracles. I know that my Heavenly Father lives and that He loves and knows me personally. I know that Jesus Christ lives. I am grateful for His atonement that I can use in my life every day. I know that the Book of Mormon is true--that it is another testament of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

It has been a joy to me to serve in my church in many capacities since I was a teenager. Sometimes it was as a pianist or organist. Sometimes it was as a teacher or in an executive position in my ward or stake. No matter where I lived in the world, it was important to me to serve where I was needed. Since I was married over 50 years ago, I have served as a visiting teacher. When my children were school age, I served as the PTA secretary in both an elementary and middle school.
