Hi I'm Cody Dover

I love playing, and watching basketball. Utah Jazz will be NBA champs! Minnesota is #1!

About Me

Hello fellow brothers and sisters! I am so grateful for the restored gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. I love playing sports, especially with my family. I am so grateful for Jesus Christ and what He has done for me in my life. I am grateful for the chance I have to serve Him each day with my daily actions.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this is Jesus Christ's church here on the earth today. The Holy Ghost has made this manifest to me as I have diligently sought for the truth. Being a Mormon means a lot more to me now than it did a year ago. I am proud to be a Mormon because I know that it is true! How can we not be proud of something that isn't true?!

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a full-time mission in the Minnesota Minneapolis Mission. I go around each day and talk to others about Jesus Christ. I love sharing with them my testimony of my Savior and how He has helped me in my life. I try my best to serve as Christ would if He were still walking the earth today. I do have weaknesses at what I do, but the Savior makes up for them when we strive to do whats right.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Cody Dover
In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, we worship only God and His Son, Jesus Christ. That is why we are called the church of Jesus Christ, and not the church of Joseph Smith. We know that God called Joseph Smith to be a prophet so God could restore Jesus Christ's church back to the earth, never to leave the earth again. We are very grateful for Joseph Smith and for his role in restoring the church back to the earth, but we do not worship him. Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Cody Dover
A testimony is something that is very personal to everybody. A testimony is not the general beliefs of the church, but it is the knowledge that things are true on a personal level. We gain our own personal testimonies by first doing our part to study things out through the scriptures, messages from the prophet and his apostles, church magazines etc. We then ask God in prayer if the things we have been learning are true. We then continue to do our part in doing our best to seek out our answer through diligent study, and when the Lord knows that we really want to know the truth, He will manifest the truth unto us by through the Holy Ghost. A testimony takes time to develop and grow, and that's why it's important to help grow your testimony each day by finding personal time to read and study the scriptures, spending time talking to your father in Heaven through prayer and doing your best to live a Christlike life. My testimony is that God and His Son, Jesus Christ, both live! They both love us more than we can comprehend. I also know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is on the earth again, never to be taken off again. I know that Joseph Smith truly did see God the Father and Jesus Christ and that Christ's gospel was restored through him. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that whoever sincerely reads it with real intent, they too can know of a surety that is is truly the word of God. Show more Show less
