Hi I'm Darlene

I have raised 7 children, taught dance and piano,

About Me

I was born in Idaho. Have lived in Arizona, New Mexico, the South Pacific and currently live in Utah...I have been a coach, taught dance and piano, and love to be involved in activities. I have worked with youth teaching sewing, cooking, crafts and other life skills. I am and always will be a wife, a mother of 7 children, a mother-in-law, and a grandmother....and I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents that taught me to pray to a Father in Heaven. They took me to church, taught me to study and glean from the scriptures and set an example of losing themselves in service to others. I had a happy life growing up and found joy in this beautiful world. As I got older and tried to decide what I wanted to be, I studied a lot of different ideas. The teachings of my youth would always come back to me and I knew that I wanted happiness. Through pray and study I know the only way to find this happiness is by living the teachings that my parents taught me as a youth. I know that I have a Father in Heaven who loves me and has a plan for me. This plan is centered around Jesus Christ, my Savior and Redeemer. I know that because of His Atonement that I can be forgiven for the things that I do wrong and that I can return to the presence of my Father in Heaven and be able to live eternally with my family. The peace that this Gospel gives me brings the strength that I need to continue each day on the path of life. I know who I am, I am a Child of God. I know God's plan for me, to be given agency to show Him that I will keep His commandment and follow Him, and that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I can return to Him. I find joy and happiness and peace in the Gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am proud to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have spent many years working with the youth in the community, school and church. Working with the Scouting program has given me the opportunity to help boys experience and discover areas that have helped them realize what they are good at and what brings them joy and satisfaction thus helping them to become productive citizens. I have also helped with girls camps and girls programs in the church that have helped to strengthen them with values and skills. I owned a dance studio for years and was able to work with youth and young adults to teach them the art of dance. I volunteered many hours to the community and church to help with dance productions. I love to share with others the talents that I have and have taught each of my children music lessons. Their friends were more than welcome to join in. I coached the high school drill team and while doing so taught them to value the talents they had been given, help others on the team and to always do their best so that they had no regrets. I taught children how to sew, cook, crafts and many other projects during my years working with the 4-H organization for Utah State University. I also volunteer in my church organization to work with other women to help build each other up and give help when needed. I believe that we have each been given special gifts and talents by our Father in Heaven and that we need to share these with others. If we do not use the talents that we have been given, we will loose them. Each life that touches mine, I try to learn from them the things that will make me a better person.
