Hi I'm Curt

I am a south African. I am currently serving a mission in the Jamaica Kingston Mission and loving it. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love to be with my friends and my parents will tell you that there is not much that i cant accomplish when i am trying to get to where my friends are. I am a gamer ( pc gamer, eat you heart out consolers hahaha lol) I love playing pc with my cousins and friends. I also love the outdoors, most times you will catch me on the trampoline or with my air rifle or hacking away at something with a knife hahaha. I love to cook and experiment while cooking its a chance for me to be creative and for others to enjoy the creativity. I like to draw even though im not very good at it because i dont practice enough. I come from a small family of 4 but a really large extended family of uncles and cousins. I love music (rock mostly but give me some good club jams and we are good to go!) i love to sing. I recently lost my mother to cancer. I miss her dearly and love her. I have one very younger brother who is 17 years younger than I. I love him to bits. I have the most amazing father in the world.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon, this is a question that i have been asked many times because i was born into the church and have been a member all my life and I have numerous friends that are not members of the church. The truth is that i have been to other churches and i have listened to what they teach many of which are great things that inspire many to become better , but honestly there was something missing. I have come to know for myself that the fullness of Christ teachings can be found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and that I have felt the influence of the Holy Ghost impressing upon my mind that this is the truth. secondly it makes me a better person... all i am and all i have learnt has been influenced by the teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and i like to think that i am a good person. And i have faced my fair share of challenges , of which i know there are more to come. I know i can face them with faith because of the gospel. Last and most dear to my heart, This is the only Gospel that teaches me HOW I can be with my family for eternity with God in eternal joy. This has only recently become something that i have appreciated after the passing of my mother while i have been out on my mission. Believing the Church was true was not enough for me anymore... I needed it to be true. It is the only thing that teaches me to hope for a future where my mother is still my mother in the next life. And that she will be forever because we have been sealed together for time and all eternity by the authority of God. I miss her and love her but it is not the end! Christ was resurrected and He lives! And because of that i Know we all will because that is the plan of our Great Creator. To bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. Its is the plan of happiness and i know for myself that its true. you can too!

How I live my faith

Before i came out to Jamaica to serve a mission i served in the youth program as a young mens president. Which basically means that i helped young men between the ages of 12 and 18 organise activities that help teach them about the gospel, develop lasting friendships, and prepare them for manhood and the responsibilities that it brings. I love my young men and i really enjoyed being there ad seeing their growth from a group of individuals to a group of friends to a brotherhood. Now i am serving a mission in Jamaica, teaching people like you who want to know what we are all about and why we do the things that we do. I am loving it so far and plan to love it for the rest of my 2 years ! So many experiences that i would not trade have come from serving the Lord on a mission!
