Hi I'm Ethan

I'm 20 years old, I'm a Brit living in Germany, I like sports and listening to music. Oh and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm 20 years old and I've just finished studying A-Levels at 6th Form, hoping to get accepted into University in America. I joined Royal Marines Cadets when I was 13 and served as a volunteer adult instructor for a while. I'm currently serving as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Munich, Germany. Being a missionary is great as I get the opportunity to help others come unto Christ and experience the joy that comes from that! I enjoy sports, especially rugby and running!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I like happiness. Growing up I always thought that going to parties, receiving presents etc. all made me happy. When I was 15 I went away for an activity week run by the Church called "Especially For Youth" or "EFY". It was during this week that I fully committed to reading the scriptures and praying daily. During that week I learnt what true happiness was, and it was something that I have never felt before, but I have felt it again after that week, whenever I choose to keep the commandments. I have a testimony that only by living the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which was restored to this earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith can we all experience true happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith on a day-to-day basis in the sense that everyday I try to follow the teachings of Christ and make a conscious effort to be a better person. One of my favourite quotes is from Lorenzo Snow, which is: "Be better today than you were yesterday, and be better tomorrow than you are today." This sums up how I try and live my life! I'm served as a Counselor in the Young Mens programme in my ward, which gave me the chance to teach young men from the ages of 12-18 on Sundays, as well as participate in and organise weekly activities such with the Youth, such as football, board games, scavenger hunts and stuff like that!

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Mormons believe that God is our loving Heavenly Father, and that as a result He loves us in the same way that a Parent loves their Child, and we can love Him in the same way that a Child loves a Parent. He is perfect in every way, the same yesterday, today and forever. We were created in His image and He has a body that looks like ours. He knows us and loves us all individually and wants us to be happy in this life, and live in such a way that we can be worthy to live with Him again once this life is over. All this is possible through the Atonement of His Son Jesus Christ and the Plan of Salvation that He has provided to us Show more Show less
