Hi I'm Grant

I grew up in Washington State. I love to run and anything involving the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am serving in the Czech/Slovak mission. Before my mission, I attended Brigham Young University for a semester. I am studying Biochemistry. I love science! I also love the outdoors. Rock climbing, running, hiking, and mountaineering are all some of my favorite activities. In 2014, I had the AMAZING opportunity to hike Mt. Rainier with some friends. It was easily one of the hardest things I have done, but also it was so rewarding!

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a Mormon. No matter where you go in the world, there will be a group of people that are willing to help you and are willing to befriend you. There is a support system available for when you experience trials in your life. Those are a few great characteristics of the Church, but they aren't why I continue to follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have seen the blessings that Heavenly Father gives me when I follow His Gospel. I've seen how happy I can be when I am obedient to his commandments. I've felt the help that Heavenly Father gives to faithful people during their trials.I've experienced the joy of repentance through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I continue to follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ because I KNOW it is true. I KNOW this is what my Heavenly Father wants me to be doing. I KNOW that He blesses anybody who is willing to follow His commandments. I also KNOW that he wants all of His children to know that I know. Talk to the missionaries! Read the Book of Mormon! In Moroni 10: 4-5, He PROMISES that if you read the Book of Mormon, and then pray about it with a sincere heart, He will provide an answer on its truthfulness. Why not try?

How I live my faith

I currently am serving a mission for my church. I am leaving my family and friends for two years to go live in a foreign country (Slovakia!) and speak a foreign language (Slovak!). I love my family, but I know this is what my Heavenly Father wants for me at this point in my life. I want to do my best to help serve the people of Slovakia by inviting others to grow their faith in Christ! Before my mission, I served as a youth teacher. I taught the young men of my church ages 14 to 16 and loved it!

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Grant
God is our loving Heavenly Father. We are all His spiritual children. He sent us to Earth so that we could gain bodies, but also so that we could learn and grow. We experience trials and temptation in this life so that we can learn and grow from them. As we overcome our trials and forsake our sins, we progress and become closer to our Heavenly Father. He wants us to return to him someday, after our life on this Earth is over. Show more Show less
