Hi I'm Monica

I grew up in Los Alamos, NM and I'm studying Theatre Design at BYUI. I'm currently serving a mission. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love the arts- music, drawing, theater, you name it. I like to listen to punk rock, like Panic! at the Disco and Fall Out Boy, but as long as I can dance to it I don't really care what type of music it is. Drawing helps calm me down and helps me be more creative. And theater is my life. I've done shows since I was little, and I plan do do them for the rest of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have struggled with being a Mormon. However, as I grew closer to God and the gospel, I found that God cares for me personally and that my choices are my own. I know that there is a God and his plan for me is the best way to find happiness in my life.

How I live my faith

Currently, I'm going on a Mission for the LDS Church. In the past, I've acted as a music leader in my ward(Church in my neighborhood), sung in our ward choir, and acted as a ward missionary.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No. We believe that Joseph Smith was a Prophet called by our Heavenly Father to restore the fullness of the gospel to the Earth. Both Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him and through Joseph Smith the Book of Mormon was translated, so people could read it and come closer to Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith was a mortal man, and while we do not worship him, we hold him in high respect. He helped the Lord's work move forward and died for his testimony, making him a martyr. Joseph Smith is a key part of our beliefs and testimonies, and so is often included. But we do not worship him. Show more Show less
