Hi I'm Courtney Zick

I grew up in Southern California. I attend Brigham Young University Idaho. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the LDS church. I have received a call to serve a mission for 18 months in Toronto, Canada. I report October 19, 2016.

Why I am a Mormon

I made the decision to be baptized into this church when I was 8 years old. I made this decision because of the feeling I have when I study my scriptures, pray and attend church. There is a beautiful peace that I feel whenever I am doing something involving the church. I am so grateful for the knowledge that I have of the gospel. I know that families can be together forever, I know that there is a Savior and that he is the Son of God. I know that we have a living prophet on the earth today, Thomas S. Monson that is at the head of the church. I know that he leads and guides the members of the church by direct revelation from our Heavenly Father. I love being a member of this church. I know that it is true.

How I live my faith

I was born into the church and have grown up learning the teachings of this church. I have been able to work with girls my age and help them learn and grow in the teachings of the church. I have also had the opportunity to organize summer camps for the girls and also other activities for the youth. I am now teaching this gospel to the people of Toronto and will hopefully bring them the same joy that this gospel has brought me.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Courtney Zick
We as Mormons believe that families can be together forever. We are sealed to our families in the temple so that we can be a family for eternity. We also know that as our loved one pass on, we can see them again one day. Show more Show less

What is the First Vision?

Courtney Zick
There was a boy named Joseph Smith who had a question. He wanted to know which church he needed to join because where he live there were many different churches. So one day, he was reading in his family bible and he came across the scripture, James 1:5. It reads, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him" So that is what Joseph did. He went into the woods near his house an he began to pray. He prayed to our Father in Heaven and asked Him which church to join. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to the young boy. Heavenly Father said, calling Joseph by name, This Is My Beloved Son, Hear Him! The First Vision is the beginning of the Restoration of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the earth.
