Hi I'm Paula G. Smith

I am a 70 year old mother of 6 children and grandmother to 24 grandchildren with a great grandchild on the way. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a grandmother and love being with children and feeding them. Trite but true, cookies are my favorite thing to cook. I love reading fun little mysteries that make my mind work. Keeping my hands busy with knitting or crocheting while watching TV with my husband at night makes me happy and he can change channels all he likes. News reports on Fox seem to be our favorites to watch on TV. I did graduate from college years ago as a Elementary School Teacher. I have worked as a secretary in a medical office, a teacher before having all my kids, and in a book department in our local store. I love decorating for holidays especially for Christmas but even just rearranging furniture does something for my creative side. I love to sing and I do sing in our church choir and I love going to musicals and to plays whenever I can. I love traveling to new places and riding across America with my husband enjoying all the sights and sounds around us. I dislike spinach and lima beans but absolutely love chocolate especially from Sees. Hopefully still young at heart.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all my life. I grew up believing and being active and loving the kind of life the Gospel teaches. As I grew older and continued to study and learn more about our church my heart continued to be touched and my testimony confirmed that Jesus is the Christ, and He atoned for our sins. We have a loving Heavenly Father that wants us to come back to Him. I believe in our prophets of old as well as Joseph Smith who translated the Book of Mormon, another testament of Christ. I know that we have a later day Prophet who continues to lead and guide us in our everyday lives. I know that my Family will always be part of me even in the life after death and find great comfort and joy knowing that we can always be together forever as a family if we just make the best effort in this life to do so. To know that I have my husband forever is a great blessing in my life. I believe in the power of prayer and it is a daily occurrence in my life that is an anchor and a comfort. I know The Savior lives and loves me and that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true.

How I live my faith

I attend church regularly and participate in the activities found there. I have taught the small children in Sunday lessons, the teenagers and also have taught lessons and served the older women in our church. I have helped prepare food for large social gatherings for our church and helped with funerals. I have been a secretary to some of the leaders and also helped with the music, singing in the chorus or helping younger children learn songs. I have gone into homes and comforted the sick or brought meals in. More than anything, I hope I am a good neighbor and friend. I want to be a good witness for what I believe in and serve and love others.
