Hi I'm Rachel

My family has shown me God's love. I know God loves us all. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have always loved words. They have such a beauty to them; they are musical and artistic. I have found that I have a talent for them and, therefore, I hope to become an author as a profession. I have gone to college to continue learning languages such as Latin, Spanish, German, and French. I hope to also learn languages from Asia such as Japanese and Africa. I enjoy many types of physical activities. My favorites are running, martial arts, and dancing. I ran with a high school team and took social dance as one of my high school classes. I am no chief, but I have been taught how to cook a variety of meals, mostly for groups of 6 or more. I especially like breakfasts such as French Toast, pancakes, biscuits, bagel sandwiches (bagels with fried eggs, ham, spinach, and tomatoes), and smoothies.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My family has taught me the principles in the Book of Mormon, The Bible, and other scripture that we have been given. I am now old enough to decide for myself whether I want to continue being a member. I know that all good things come from God. I know that He loves us all and wants us to return to Him. I have prayed and received an answer that this is true and that this Church is true. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ came to Joseph Smith and revealed Their gospel in its purity. I know that Christ is the Savior of the world. He gave His Atonement for us so we may repent and improve and eventually return to live with Him and Heavenly Father. Heavenly Father wants all of His children to return to Him and will provide every opportunity for us to know Him. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us.

How I live my faith

I have been a leader of a church youth group in which I assisted in planning activities and caring for the physical and spiritual needs of our members. I shared the role of preparing the program for our main church meeting by typing the names of who was conducting, giving business, speaking; I put down the songs we would be singing and the activities that were planned for our members. I am a visiting teacher. I am privileged to meet with and become friends with women in my area that I had previously not been able to associate with. We are able to help each other with work and uplift each other emotionally and spiritually. I will be serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for one and a half years. I will let others know that God has restored His power- the Priesthood- on the earth along with His gospel. They can come to know Him and be like Him; they can be together with their families for all eternity in perfect happiness with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
