Hi I'm Amanda

I'm a musician. I'm an artist. I'm a daughter. I'm a sister. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student right now studying Music Education. I love anything art related from drawing to painting to singing to dancing. When I have a quiet moment I enjoy reading almost anything or listening to music. I also enjoy running, playing tennis, and have participated in several triathlons. I have an immense love of traveling and am always open to new people, new foods, and new places to explore. In rain, snow, or sun, nature is where I like to spend most of my time, whether it be hiking, camping, adventuring, or just relaxing outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this gospel with all my heart. I know God lives and that I can speak to him, and that with desire and patience he will answer my prayers. There have been countless times in my life when I have been going through something difficult and by taking the time to kneel and speak to Him, I have felt His immense comfort through the Spirit and I know that he hears my pleads and will help me overcome my trials. I know that the teachings of the prophets and the scriptures are the doctrines, principles, and commandments by which we should be living today. I have taken the time to study, pray, and ponder the things I have read and heard from our living prophet and through this study have come to know that it is true, and it is how I should be living my life. When we walk in the footsteps of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we can find peace and joy that the world cannot give to us. I know that God is merciful and because Christ suffered for the sins and afflictions of everyone, we can repent and be forgiven for our mistakes in this life, and one day live in heaven despite our imperfections. God is good. He gives me hope, and I have faith that He watches over all of his children here on earth. I know He has a plan for all of us and that when we abide by his teachings and listen to the Spirit, we can be guided on the path that will lead us home to Him.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed with many leadership positions throughout my life, assisting in the youth programs, with young children, and helping teach young adults. In the past I have helped in planning many events for the youth in order to create a positive social environment for them to spend time together in. I have also had the opportunity to teach the younger children about God and doctrines taught in the scriptures. Participating in different parts of the church allows me to be able to connect with and assist so many different people and I am constantly learning not only about the gospel, but how I can learn to love and serve the people I work with.
