Hi I'm Taysa Pierre

I was born in Brazil. I'm serving as a missionary at Temple Square, Salt Lake City. I love singing, laughing, surfing and summer!

About Me

I'm 20 years old. I have one twin sister and twin brothers. My family is back in Brazil and we have so much fun watching movie, going to the beach, surfing, running and helping each other at all times. I love to sing with my sister is one of my favorite things, keep us together and I love that. I enjoy spending time with my friends and cousins, laughing and having fun together. My native language is Portuguese but I also speak English. I'm learning English while serving my mission in Utah. When I go back to Brazil, I'll start working and preparing to go to University and study Veterinarian.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised Mormon. My parents met the missionaries in their childhood and became members. Even though I was born being a member, I needed to choose by myself the things I wanted to do and to follow. I always wanted to be happy and to feel that I was doing the right thing, but when I was 16, I found myself surrounded by sadness and without hope. I was trying to understand why we need to go through hard times in our life if we are all Children of God and He love us. In that time I remembered that my mom taught me to pray and read the Book of Mormon to find answers and understanding for my questions. After praying and reading a thought came to my mind telling me: ''I'm here, I love you, I know what you are going through and I'll provide a way for you to bear and accomplish the things I have you to do''. In that moment I knew that this was my answer, a peaceful and comfort feeling filled my heart in that time. Today, I know that my Savior lives and He is my redeemer. Because of Him and through Him we all may have eternal life. We do not need to suffer alone, because Jesus Christ suffered for each one of us. His Gospel is again on earth and give us hope for a better days.

How I live my faith

I try show others through actions the things I believe. Being a missionary is a perfect way to share my believes as well my testimony about my Savior Jesus Christ and His teachings. A Sister missionary serve 1 year and 6 months in another place, it could be in your own country or another. During this time, I talk to people about The Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and how has been blessed my life and my family life. Before my mission I used to serve in the Church being the Music Leader in the Primary class (kids) singing with them. It is so wonderful how we can live our faith by small and simple things, like being a good example and reaching out to others around you. This is one of the things that makes me feel happy and being a better person in this world that is full of sadness. I believe that each one of us has spiritual gifts and talents that need to be share to help others and bring others to this eternal happiness.
