Hi I'm Dallin

I am originally from Utah, USA, I currently live with my family in Yokohama, Japan. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in Utah and lived in Scotland for two years as a volunteer missionary. My family and I live in Yokohama, Japan and we enjoy the chance we have to live among and work with people from Japan and from other countries. We attend the local Mormon congregation but we enjoy associating with people from many faiths and beliefs.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the happiness and peace the gospel of Jesus Christ brings to me and my family. Even though our lives are challenging and may include some unexpected lumps and bumps, the gospel of Jesus Christ has taught me that there are always good things to look forward to, including peace amidst a busy, competitive and challenging world; a good day today or a better day tomorrow; and the knowledge that is much more to come after the end of our life on earth, as part of God's plan. The teachings of Jesus Christ and living prophets along with scriptures including the Bible and the Book of Mormon give me and my family clear direction among so many different and possibly conflicting and confusing messages we see and hear in our world today.

How I live my faith

In addition to just attending weekly worship services in Tokyo each Sunday, My family and I try to live our everyday lives so that people around us see that being a Mormon is more than just the things we "do" and "don't do", but a belief system and way of life that gives us hope for good things today or better things tomorrow, even when life is very challenging - as moving to and living in a new country can be.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Visitors are welcome at worship services. As I am not fluent in Japanese, I attend worship services in Senzuko, just south of Tokyo, but there are other locations for English speakers in Hiroo and many Japanese language worship services in and around Tokyo, Yokohama and many other cities in Japan. Local congregations will always welcome visitors who want to come and participate in the worship services. Show more Show less
