Hi I'm Kellen

I was born and raised in San Diego, California. I'm a student at BYU. I'm currently a missionary in Recife, Brazil. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a university student, majoring in political science and hoping to go to law school. I like studying and learning about almost anything I can, but especially politics and history, but I don't just sit around reading textbooks (although I do a lot of that). I enjoy hiking the trails and hills near my home, and my dad and I like taking our kayak out on the bay. I also practice capoeira, a Brazilian martial art that incorporates elements of dance and gymnastics.

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunate enough to be born to a family of faithful Mormons. As I grew up, I knew the joy and happiness within my family was thanks to the gospel of Christ. I studied and lived the gospel my whole life, and as I did I could feel the Holy Spirit confirming to me the truth of it. I learned that God is our Heavenly Father, and He sent His son Jesus Christ to atone for our sins so we can be redeemed and return to Him. I know that God loves us, and has provided us prophets, scriptures, and the Holy Spirit to help us live righteously and be the best that we can be.

How I live my faith

I try to live according to the example Christ set, by being loving and patient with those around me. I know this is His church, and I go to all my church meetings on Sundays. I used to teach a Sunday School class for 12-13 year-olds, and an early morning scripture study class for high schoolers during the week. However, I am now serving a two-year mission to teach people the gospel in Recife, Brazil.
