Hi I'm Becky

I grew up in South Jordan UT. I'm preparing for an LDS mission to Panama City, Panama. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I currently work part-time at my favorite burger restaurant, and have been saving for my mission since I returned from my trip to Europe, which I paid for almost entirely on my own. I believe very strongly in working hard and dedicating yourself to achieve your personal goals. I am a creative person who enjoys drawing and writing in my free time. I love being around friends and family, and attending my Sunday worship. My religion has played a huge part in my upbringing, and the confidence I now have to do whatever I put my mind to. I love the Lord with all my heart, and can't wait to share the truth of His gospel with the people of Panama.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised LDS, but that's not the reason I am a Mormon. All growing up, I knew my parents knew it was true, but I did not know for myself. When I entered the Beehive organization when I was twelve, I decided to find out for myself. It came slowly over the next six years of my life, as I read the Book of Mormon nearly everyday, and prayed every night, by the time I graduated high school and moved onto the next step of my life, I knew for myself that this is Christ's true church, and exactly where I belong. I have attended other religions, and have listened to many pastors, many of which have wonderful points and are amazing people who I admire, but they all lacked the clarity and depth of knowledge that my own spiritual leaders had. Slowly over time, and with a lot of patience, I have grown to have my own testimony of this, His gospel, and the truth that resides here. I know God is my Heavenly Father who loves me individually and cares about my personal well-being, and that His son, Jesus Christ, has felt every heartache and broken bone I have ever felt while he suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane, and is the only person alive who truly understands my personal experiences. I love the Lord and His church. Though you don't know me, I'm here to tell you it's true. God knows you and loves you. Christ is always there for you, even in your darkest hour. They are always just a prayer away.

How I live my faith

As a teenager, I was the president of both the Beehive class (12-13 year old girls) and the Laurel class (16-18 year old girls). There were about thirty girls in each class. I helped organize weekly activities for both the girls, and combined activities with the young men's organization. I don't currently have a calling in my ward, but I attend all my meetings every Sunday and do not shy away from talking about my religion. I often talk with my co-workers about my beliefs, and do my best to explain why we Mormons are so unique. I graduated four years of seminary in high school, and have since attended Institute at the local college. I have been Called to serve a full time mission in Panama City, Panama. I will be living my faith entirely for 18 months as I teach the wonderful people of Central America about Christ, and His important role in all of our lives.
