Hi I'm Terra

I'm passionate about learning, trying new things, and being outdoors. Raised in Alaska and a missionary in Taiwan! I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love to do anything that involves sports, the outdoors, or is adventurous. Life is meant to be lived to the fullest everyday! I have participated in 10 different competitive sports, and in high school I competed in state championships for soccer and diving, simply because I love being active and trying everything. Above all of that though, family is number one to me. They are my support, my best friends, and make me laugh harder than anyone else I know. I also enjoy opportunities to learn. It often does not matter what the topic is, I just enjoy expanding my mind and understanding other people's perspectives. However, I am partial to learning about scientific discoveries/theories, how things work, and international events/politics. I am also passionate about people. I love helping them. So, I have been attending college to become a nurse. I hope to be able to use this degree to travel and help people from all walks of life and cultures; and to learn more about the world. There are just some things that cannot be taught in a classroom; it takes experience. Right now though I am currently serving a mission in Taiwan! Which is quite a change from the Alaskan weather I was accustomed to growing up.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have prayed to my Heavenly Father to know if He is real, to know if the Book of Mormon is true, and to know if this is truly God's church restored on the earth today. I know without a doubt in my mind that God does live, and so does His son Jesus Christ. They are living, actual beings that love us, comfort us, and guide us. This does not mean that we will not experience trials in our life. Trials are a necessary part of life that help us to stand steadfast in what we know, discover truths, learn to rely on and have faith in the Lord, His plan and His timing, be able to exercise our agency, and to help us know the bitter from the sweet. I know that as we go through life He will always be there for us. I am living proof that He is there, that He answers prayers, that He is walking by our side through every challenge and obstacle we face. It does not matter the enormity of your trial. He will always walk with you.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by taking time out of the day to find a quiet place where I can just think, read the word of God, and feel the Spirit. The world tends to be a busy place, but it's important to me to put God first. I cannot make it in this life without His guidance and support. So, I try to seek Him out everyday that I may be able to know what He would have me do, and so that I may be worthy of His help by doing my part. In many ways I believe that my decision to become a nurse is because of Christ. Jesus Christ sacrificed so much in order to make it possible for us to return to our Heavenly Father. He spent his entire life helping others. By becoming a nurse I hope to be able to help others too, and show through my actions that I am grateful for His sacrifice.
