Hi I'm Malissia

I'm a student-athlete. I'm a musician. I'm a twin. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born deep in the heart of Texas and somehow ended up in beautiful East Tennessee. I play softball for my school, and I am a member of the marching and concert bands. I love sports and music, but I love my family more. I have two amazing parents who have been very good to me, a twin brother, and a fun-loving golden retriever-yellow lab. I also love to mountain bike, read, Eno, cook, learn, listen to Hunter Hayes, and sleep. I plan to serve a mission and to attend BYU.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ in its fullest form makes sense to me. I love how Heavenly Father has given us prophets and apostles, the Priesthood, the Word of Wisdom, temples, the Book of Mormon, unpaid clergy, the Plan of Salvation, and much more. I love being a Mormon because I love my Savior, and I know that I can find comfort in His atonement. I also love how we don't have to rely on other people to interpret the scriptures for us. We can study, pray, and find the answers to our on questions through the power of the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I am the only Young Woman in my high school, so I am constantly being pressured to do things that are contrary to by beliefs. Instead of focusing on how my peers see me, I focus on how my Heavenly Father sees me. I have been blessed with opportunities to share the Gospel because of my different beliefs and standards. Many times I have been asked to play softball on Sunday. I explain to my coach and teammates that I believe that Sunday is the Sabbath Day of the Lord and that I want to keep it holy. I live my faith everyday by keeping the commandments, studying the scriptures, attending Seminary, serving others, and striving to live as Jesus Christ did.
