Hi I'm Malissia

I'm a twin, a student, a future math teacher, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was born deep in the heart of Texas, spent nine years in East Tennessee, and currently live near Fredericksburg, VA. I have a twin brother for a best friend named Tyler and a yellow lab-golden retriever named Ranger. I'm currently a student at Brigham Young University, and I'm pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics Education. My dream job is that of a high school calculus teacher. I love mathematics along with reading, music, food (particularly queso), movies, cute puppies, and spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because the Gospel of Jesus Christ in its restored form makes sense to me. I love how Heavenly Father has given us Prophets, Apostles, the Priesthood, the Word of Wisdom, the Holy Ghost, temples, the Book of Mormon, unpaid clergy, the Plan of Salvation, and much more, but what I love most of all is that He's given us a Savior--His Son, Jesus Christ. It seems like He has given us everything we need for our mortal sojourn! I love being a Mormon because I love my Savior, and I know that I can find strength, peace, and even eternal life through His Atonement.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith everyday by loving everyone, serving the people around me, and sharing what I believe with others. I've recently been called to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Fukuoka, Japan. I'll postpone my education for a year and a half to serve and teach the people of Japan about the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, and I'm beyond excited!!
