Hi I'm Miriam

I'm Hispanic, from NJ, am a wife, and love public health. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family and unique background. My father is from Uruguay and my mother is from Spain so I grew up in a bilingual home with three total kids. I was born and raised in New Jersey and am the youngest of three children. I love being active through dancing, running, cycling, hiking, and weight training. I also love art, especially painting. I love experiencing new activities, fashion, food, singing, beach trips, painting, sunsets, laughing, listening to a range of music, and traveling. I really enjoy serving others and also enjoy just relaxing by watching a new movie. I recently got married and love being married to my best friend. I received a bachelor's and master's degree in public health and I love the field. And I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have believed in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ as long as I can remember. I am a Mormon because I can not deny the peaceful and joyous feeling I have when I live the gospel. I am a Mormon because the Holy Ghost has testified to me in my heart and mind a million times that Heavenly Father is my loving father, Jesus Christ is my Redeemer, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's church on the earth. I am a Mormon because I have developed a personal relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ who know who I am. I notice their hand in my life and feel their love for me constantly. I am a Mormon because I enjoy attending weekly church meetings where I renew covenants through the sacrament, learn the gospel, and develop relationships with other members. I am a Mormon because I have had special experiences with the atonement of Jesus Christ where he's shown me mercy and compassion. I am a Mormon because living the church teachings has created harmony and a clear purpose in my life through understanding the Plan of Salvation and my divine nature. I am a Mormon because serving other people makes me happy. I am a Mormon because when my interpersonal relationships are Christ-like, they are stronger. I am a Mormon because my prayers have been answered time and time again. I am a Mormon because I have seen miracles through divine intervention. I am a Mormon because temple ordinances and covenants enable me to return to God. I am a Mormon because when I follow God's commandments, I have success in life. I am a Mormon because Christ provides me with strength and guidance to overcome any personal challenges, weaknesses, and temptations. I am a Mormon because I have seen the direct blessings from following the counsel of prophets, apostles, and the scriptures. I am Mormon because God doesn't lead me astray. I KNOW that all of this is true as I have seeked, asked, and obeyed, learning line upon line through the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is a way of life, part of everything and every interaction. I live my faith by maintaining a close relationship with my Heavenly Father through daily prayer and scripture study. I live my faith by being an active member of my ward/congregation by participating in church meetings and attending activities where I can interact with them and learn more of the gospel (ie. family home evening and institute). I live my faith by fulfilling ward callings/assignments to the best of my ability and with love for others. I live my faith by visiting sisters in my ward each month so that we can strengthen and lift one another. I live my faith by trying to be kind to everyone every day. I live my faith by building my faith and trust in the Lord, Jesus Christ. I live my faith by participating in family history (collecting names of ancestors) and temple work (bring those names to the temple to perform ordinances of exaltation their behalf). I live my faith by making my family a priority. I live my faith by serving others whenever and wherever I can, even when it's not easy or convenient. I live my faith by keeping Gods commandments and standards the best I can with Christs' help. I live my faith by being a missionary through action and words, inviting others to get to know Jesus Christ and follow Him. I live my faith by heeding the counsel of prophets, apostles, and church leaders who are inspired of God. I live my faith by living life with a positive attitude, viewing everyone as children of God, loving and uplifting others. I live my faith by striving to recognize and follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost. I live my faith by being an example of Jesus Christ in my words and actions. I live my faith by actively applying the repentance process.
