Hi I'm Alan

Degrees in Music and Social Work. Have taught piano for years and worked at Valley Mental Health in SLC. And I am a Mormon

About Me

When I was a young man, I was mesmerized by the beauty of the fine arts and accompanied the ballet department at the University of Utah on the piano. I married a wonderful, beautiful girl and we adopted two girls. They are both now grown and we have three grown grandchildren. Now truth is more important to me than beauty. I have learned that beauty can sometimes not be good or true, but that truth is always beautiful. I worked for 40 years as a licensed, clinical social worker and am now retired.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church, but like everyone, I had to have the spiritual confirmation that allowed me to become converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My grandmother and I would read the New Testament out loud to each other when I was a child. My testimony grew slowly as I read the Book of Mormon, and became firm. The only way to know anything is true is when the Holy Ghost speaks to your heart.

How I live my faith

My wife and I served an Inner City Service Mission in Murray, Utah. We love our friends in Woods Cross and in our church. We have organized an Empty Nesters Group which meets monthly that includes our favorite friends. We visit members of our church every month to discuss a spiritual message. We have taught Sunday School for years.
