Hi I'm Tara Jensen

I adore my beautiful beagle. I love books, calligraphy, sewing, painting, drawing and decorating cakes. I am a Mormon!

About Me

As of Jan 2016, excitedly serving the people of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I am a lefty. ("Lefties are creative, everyone knows that, forever with ideas they are always first at bat, intuitive and bright, easy-going day and night, southpaws always do it better, but never do it right!") I love being creative. I worked in a bakery on Temple Square in SLC, UT where I was able to decorate cakes and have fun with my job. I enjoy music and going to concerts. I've been to Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Imagine Dragons, George Strait, Brad Paisley, etc. I like to sew and listen to music or audio books. I LOVE the Harry Potter series. I have been to two Comic-Cons in SLC which were fantastic! In the winter I ski with my family which is always a blast. In the summer I try to stay cool until evening when I walk my dear, sweet Beagle just as the breathtaking sunset shines in the sky.

Why I am a Mormon

Just because I was born into the Church doesn't mean that I automatically knew that everything was true or right. A testimony must be grown throughout your life. And a conversion must happen over time and through the testimony of the Book of Mormon and the Holy Spirit. I love the Gospel, and even if I might not know some things, I believe in my Savior and His gospel. I know that President Monson is a prophet called of God just as prophets were called in the Old and New Testaments. I know that commandments are given to protect us from harmful things. I also know that it is our choice to follow these commandments. Even if we mess up we can still repent through the Atonement of Christ. The Atonement was the greatest event that ever happened and our Savior was the greatest gift ever given to us. I love knowing about the Savior and all that He has done for mankind. This knowledge has been a huge blessing in my life.

How I live my faith

A few ways I try to incorporate the gospel/Church into my life is by attending Church every Sunday, doing my best to follow the commandments. Stay modest and do what I can to be a representative of the Savior. In 2014 I was called as the 5/6 yr Primary Teacher in my ward. I wasn't too sure about it as I am the youngest in my family and didn't really know how to handle little children. I gave it my best shot and started to have fun although it was fairly challenging at times. In 2015 I was given the 4/5 yr Primary class and I taught 7 kids, sometimes by myself which has never been more frustrating, but also rewarding when they were able to answer my questions and sometimes when they would actually listen to an entire story. Even though I did have some hard times teaching, it was a very rewarding experience to be in Primary. That is where you learn the basics and principles on which The LDS church is founded. I had so much fun with the kids and especially with the beautiful Primary songs. Besides going to Church, I have tried to go as often as possible to Institute with my friend. I love learning about the pure genius of the Gospel and when it gets down to it, you realize that there is no human being who could have come up with the gospel, or the Book of Mormon. It has truly been revealed to ancient and modern day prophets.
