Hi I'm Deanne Hanson

I was raised in Utah. I come from a long line of Mormon pioneer ancestors . I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a grandmother of 14 beautiful grandchildren, 7 girls and 7 boys. My husband and I had 4 girls and 2 boys in 9 years time. We married a little older and decided to make up for lost time. I taught Elementary Education before I was married and we started our family. My children are the joy of my life. I was privileged to be a stay at home mom which worked well since my husband traveled. I have always loved crafts and creating. The last several years quilting has become my passion. I also love reading, and learning about my ancestors. I live in the mountains and love the beauty the seasons creates, especially the Fall. I love to travel and we discovered in these past 5 years how much fun cruises can be. Especially since I love the beach.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family to amazing kind and loving parents. They taught me the doctrines of the gospel, they taught me how to pray, and they encouraged me to learn and develop my own relationship with my Father in Heaven and the Savior. I was blessed to see many times in my growing up years how prayers were answered and feel the Love of my Heavenly Father for me. I read the book of Mormon when as a teenager and had a very sweet experience confirming to me it is true. I have continued to read the Book of Mormon every year and continue to learn Heavenly Fathers plan for me. I have had many trials and challenges in my life as does everyone. I have been guided through these with the comfort of the Holy Ghost and answers to prayers along with the power of Priesthood blessings. I know without a doubt this is God's restored church on the earth. Christ is at the head of the church and has blessed us with a Prophet and Apostles. This church is beacon of light in a world that is darkening. I am a Mormon because here I not only find safety and comfort and hope and joy but can also receive the ordinances that will take me back to live with my Heavenly father again, along with my eternal family.

How I live my faith

I have always loved giving service in the church wherever we have lived. While my children were all little I served teaching the children ages 18 mo. to 12 years old. for about 7 years. I learned to lead them in music, prepare lessons and administrate to help run the program. I also was able to serve with the young women in our church during the time my girls were in their teenage years. I was president of the program 2 different times and also served as a teacher and a camp leader. These were wonderful experiences loving and serving these children and youth. Especially to watch them grow in faith and see the light in their eyes. The last several years I have been privileged to serve the women in our church, as a teacher, an organizer of humanitarian projects and enrichment programs and as a leader. I have also served in my community volunteering for various community activities, serving as President of our quilt guild, and participating in community service projects such as making blankets for the women's jail, gathering coats for the homeless, serving our two Assisted living care centers... My husband and I also supported 2 sons on their 2 year missions in Ecuador and Chili. My religion is foremost in my life everyday of my life in everything I do as I serve my family, my church and my community.
