Hi I'm Dan

I own my own business, have a Masters Degree, love to play basketball, water and snow ski and best of all I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I have been married for 37 years. We have six great kids ranging from 36 to 25 years of age. We have 9 grandchildren. I have owned and operated a dry-cleaning (family) business for 30 years. Before taking over the family business I was a Public Relations Director for a large hospital. I have lived in South Carolina and Utah. One side of my family comes from Minnesota. We have traveled throughout the U.S., Canada, the Middle East and South America. We love the beauties of nature. We love boating and water skiing at some of the most gorgeous places on earth and snow skiing as well. I love to play basketball and many other sports. We try to help other people and are trying to use some of our retirement time in those efforts. We love the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but really didn't fully accept it until just after High School when I met a girl who was not a Mormon. She was interested in our church and so we sought out the missionaries. While she took their lessons we both were so incredibly impressed with the Spirit we felt during that time, had an incredibly wonderful experience reading the Book of Mormon and became convinced that without doubt this was the same true church Jesus Christ organized when he was on the earth. I became very dedicated to the church and served a full-time mission to Japan. She was baptized and also served a full-time mission to Spain. After my mission I met a wonderful young lady, married her and together we have had many, many wonderful spiritual experiences that have deepened our faith and solidified our understanding regarding the Mormon church and our Savior Jesus Christ. We have learned to love Him and know He lives and watches over His church and all His children on this earth. His gospel is so very true and wonderful and it is found in it's fulness in the Mormon church. We have no doubt! Trying to live the gospel and follow Jesus has brought such peace and joy to us. All our children are active members and would tell you the same thing. It is really a wonderful church and brings great blessings.

How I live my faith

For the last seven years I have worked between five and eight hours per week in a Mormon temple. It has been extremely rewarding as it is a place filled with the Spirit of the Lord which brings great peace into our lives. The other people we work with are so wonderful and fun to work with. I also, during the same time have worked with Boy Scouts as the Scout Committee Chairman. We have seen many, many young men achieve their Eagle rank advancement during this time and greatly grow and mature. I have also been the coordinator of volunteers for my community. Before that, for over four years, I was in charge of the sports program for our area congregations. We held games and tournaments for men, women and youth (boys and girls) in sports such as basketball, softball, volleyball, indoor soccer, golf, touch football, and others. These opportunities to serve, help to make our life much more worthwhile and enjoyable. Really, these opportunities are blessings and create great memories and feelings of accomplishment. Our church teaches us to always be involved in good causes and we also are trying to pattern our life after our Savior Jesus Christ as He filled his life in service.
