Hi I'm Forrest

I looked everywhere for happiness and truth for 18 years, finally found it. That's why I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi my name is Forrest, I live in Arizona, but being from a family the followed construction work, my family has lived in most of the western United States. During my life (I am now retired), I have been a journeyman ironworker, professional photographer, inventor holding a patent in the United States, and a heavy equipment operator in a gold mine. Before my retirement I drove a over the road 18 wheeler. I also have hauled gasoline in the Los Angles and San Fransisco Bay area and was working there when they had the big earth quake.

Why I am a Mormon

Having worked as a journeyman ironworker, I understand the importance of blueprints. When I was first told about the gospel of Jesus Christ I was made aware of things that the "true church of Jesus Christ" should have, and things that it "should not" have in it. The Church of Jesus Christ in the Latter Days should have a "prophet", "12 apostles", "the quorum of the seventy", a "unpaid clergy". The membership should serve in the church because they love our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and are willing to share the burdens of those who are members and their fellow men. After searching the scriptures of the old and new testament and using it as a blueprint, I found "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" which has been restored as the church was of originally organized by Christ himself during his mortal ministry. By taking the elements found in the old and new testament, and overlaying it on the framework of churches today my search continued to lay aside any organization of religion that did not fit the blueprint laid out in the scriptures. Every detail needed to be exact in order for the blueprint to fit perfectly. The gospel of Jesus Christ teaches us the importance of the best elements of own personality that need to be developed to one's own maximum potential in order to be happy in this life, and prepared as much as humanly possible to be like Our Savior. For he said "what manner of men ought ye to be? Verily I say unto you, even as I am".

How I live my faith

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the community where I lived in Nevada. I have served as pack committee chairman of our local cub scout pack for a term of six years. I also helped with local food drives for our local food bank, contributed to the work being done to paint and repair local historical buildings and our local post office, repairing ramps and handrails for handicapped access.
