Hi I'm Shanna Forsey

I'm a wife, mother of six, grandma to eight (soon to be nine) and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to travel and to snow and waterski. Lake Powell in Utah, USA, is one of my favorite places on earth. And we love spending time there every year with our children, their spouses, and our grandchildren. I enjoy doing crafts, sewing and crocheting. I play at playing the piano. Played the oboe as a youth, still love to listen to oboe music. I have spent many years working with Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts (we have 4 sons, all Eagle Scouts). As a young woman, I belonged to my high school and college dance/drill teams, and participated in the last world wide dance festival sponsored by the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the church is true. Growing up in an inactive home, the church and gospel were my anchor. Without that guidance in my life, I don't like to think of how my life could have turned out. My parents divorced when I was just a toddler, and neither of them made good choices thru out their lives, and living with either of them was never something I wanted to do. Being raised by my grandmother and sent to church was my miracle. I also had good friends, some were members of the church, some were not. But they all had high ideals, excellent morals and goals that also helped to inspire me. The activities the church sponsors for its youth were vital to my gaining a testimony of the truthfulness of the church. Since I've been married, we have been blessed to be able to travel and have gone to many of the church's historical sites thru out the United States. Being where the prophet Joseph Smith, the early pioneers of the church, as well as traveling toCentral l America and Israel have truly cemented my love for my savior Jesus Christ, for the pioneers and Joseph smith and the sacrifices they have made on my behalf.

How I live my faith

I was raised by my grandmother and uncle. They were not active in the church but always made sure I went to primary and Sunday school every week. They also made sure I was baptized and confirmed a member of the church. As a youth they supported me in most of the activities I was involved in as well. Staying active in the church was always very important to me. I met my husband in college and we were married in the temple. We set goals as newlyweds that we would always be active, attend the temple regularly and serve a mission together as a couple when we were close to retiring. I have served with children and youth most of my life. My absolute favorite callings are working in the primary as a music leader, as well as working with the cub scouts. I also loved working with the young women, which was the most recent calling I had. The youth have such strong spirits and testimonies. It is such a privilege to work with them. I have also enjoyed being an ordinance worker in both the Ogden and Brigham City temples over the past six years.
