Hi I'm Nancy

I was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and have spent the last 25 years in Alaska.

About Me

I am a wife, mother of six and grandmother of twenty-three. I love working with wood especially making nativities with my scrollsaw. I have worked with young children for 40 years, teaching and managing a child care center. I also really enjoy all the beauty that Alaska has to offer and get out kayaking as much as I can in the summer.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a freshman in college I had the opportunity to hear about the plan of salvation from missionaries who were teaching my roommate. Even though I knew absolutely nothing about the "Mormons", I immediately accepted this teaching as being something I knew to be true. With a strong testimony of the truthfulness of the Plan of Salvation, I was able to study and learn more about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and become a member a few months later. I am so thankful to be sealed to my family for eternity and to truly know my Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

It is such a blessing to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have had many opportunities through our church to work with people of all ages. My husband and I are presently working with the Missionaries in our Mission. These young men and women who chose to leave their homes and come to Alaska to share the gospel have had a profound effect on me. They have set such a wonderful example of love and service. I have loved every opportunity for service that has come to me because I have always gained so much more that I gave.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

I have increased my faith in Jesus Christ by studying and learning more about his life and teachings. As I study the scriptures and pray to know the truthfulness of the things I learn, I become closer to my Savior. Show more Show less
