Hi I'm Josh Barrus

I grew up in Utah. I'm an aspiring business major. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am very passionate about sports. I enjoy the outdoors. I am going on a mission to Texas. I will finish school when I return from my mission and major in Business Management.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because we all fall well short of perfection, but through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we can find peace and happiness both in this life and in the life to come, and eventually become perfect, even as He is perfect. God loves all of His children, and desires for all of them to receive His Gospel. All they have to do is ask, and He will answer those who study it out in their minds and hearts, and sincerely seek truth. Jesus Christ stands at the head of this Church, and I am so glad, because He is the perfect leader. He is merciful, patient, and will never, ever give up on us. I was blessed to have been born into a family that taught me the Gospel of Jesus Christ and centered our home on Him and His teachings. However, it came to a point where I had to find out for myself if this really was Christ's church, restored on the earth today. I studied the Book of Mormon and received a witness that it is the Word of God, and that the LDS Church is Christ's Church that has been restored in these, the latter days. I would say conversion is more of a process than an event. As I've studied the Book of Mormon, as well as the Bible, and strive to obey all of God's commandments, I've found peace, joy, and happiness. I have a positive outlook on the future, and know that Christ will be with me every step of the way. I have a desire to share this knowledge I have with others, because it has brought me much joy, and I desire for others to possess the same joy that I have, which is why I am headed on a mission to serve the people of Houston, Texas for these next couple of years.

How I live my faith

I strive to follow the commandments of God, as well as emulate the example of Jesus Christ. I am certainly very imperfect, but I live my faith by trying my best to obey all of God's commandments. Another important aspect of my faith is serving others. Anyone can go to Church each week and give the appearance of being a faithful Christian, but it's through our actions where we either become closer to Jesus Christ or farther from Him. It's important to serve our fellow man as often as possible. Also, studying the Book of Mormon, and the Holy Bible, as well as sincerely praying to God has helped me develop a stronger relationship with Jesus Christ.
