Hi I'm Jake

I like cars:) Also I have lived in Falls Church Virginia, and worked in Washington D.C. as a web developer. And I'm a Mormon. :-)

About Me

I grew up going to Church every Sunday. I have always enjoyed church activities and camping, snowboarding, cars, sports and dating...now just my wife :-) I just graduated college in Computer Science and I'm in the process of looking for a job. (this last week I went to a car show with all the new model of cars; And I've been fixing my cars that have well over 200,000 miles on them so that I can get to work -for when I find a job) (After I get a job I will buy a newer car...I just like to buy everything in cash...like school, cars, etc. My wife is currently working on her Masters Degree in Statistics. We have no kids yet and have been married just over 3 years. I grew up as a very shy person and I think that helped me stay out of trouble. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and though it's hard to have faith at times to do what is right, I think I am doing a pretty good job of repenting of my sins and living the way the gospel teaches us to- so that I can return to our Heavenly Father(God) someday in Heaven(Celestial Kingdom).

Why I am a Mormon

The more I learn about the Bible (old and new testament) and the Book of Mormon I realize that though they have different characters and prophets, such as Moses, Isaiah, Peter, James, Nephi, Moroni - they are still teaching the same gospel of Jesus Christ. The holy spirit has testified to me many times that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is REALLY the church of Jesus Christ; and that Jesus Christ is in charge of this church and conducts it through the living prophet today -The prophet Thomas S. Monson. I am 'Mormon' a.k.a a Latter Day Saint because it makes me happy and it teaches me what I should be doing. There are so many commandments much more then just the 10 that the prophet Moses received and it is sad that a lot of people do not know that. The commandments help us avoid certain grief and sorrow while keeping us on the path of righteousness. Being a Mormon gives me a second family that I can go to here on earth for when I am in need of help.

How I live my faith

I am currently in charge of Sunday School for where I live. I love working in the Sunday School as I can help make sure that we have great teachers so that everyone can learn the essential gospel doctrines of Jesus Christ.-So that my friends can also receive great blessings as I am or will receive. I visit some neighboring families often to help them out physically, emotionally and spiritually. Basically I just try to be a good neighbor and be kind to everyone. I show that I am a follower of Jesus Christ by the way I live...meaning by the way I treat others and by the way I talk (I try not to swear or talk bad behind people's backs), by the way I take care of my body- I try to exercise often and I do not do drugs.
